Examination Structure

At Sant Sudha Sagar Public Sen. Sec School, we follow the examination pattern prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to ensure a holistic assessment of a student’s academic performance and personal growth.

Classes I to V (Primary Section):

1. Formative Assessments (FA):
  • Regular class tests, oral assessments, activities, and projects
  • Conducted throughout the academic year
2. Summative Assessments (SA):
  • Two main exams: Half-Yearly and Annual.
  • Each covering cumulative syllabus with increasing difficulty.
  • Focus: Basic concept clarity, reading/writing skills, participation, and values

Classes VI to VIII (Middle Section):

1. Periodic Tests:
  • Periodic written tests conducted in each term
  • Includes notebook submission and subject enrichment activities
2. Half-Yearly & Year-End Exams:
  • Conducted in September and March respectively.
  • Covers entire syllabus as per term plan
3. Assessment Criteria:
  • 80% marks from term exams.
  • 20% from internal assessments

Classes IX & X (As per CBSE Board Guidelines)

1. Scholastic Areas:
  • One Annual Board Examination (Class X) or school-conducted exams (Class IX)
  • Periodic Tests, Notebook Submission, and Subject Enrichment Activities
2. Grading System:
  • 80 Marks – Final Exam
  • 20 Marks – Internal Assessment (10 marks for tests, 5 for notebooks, 5 for enrichment)
3. Co-Scholastic Areas:
  • Work education, art education, physical & health education graded on a 3-point scale

Classes XI & XII (Senior Secondary Section)

1.Unit Tests & Pre-Board Exams:
  • Periodic unit tests throughout the session
  • Two pre-board exams before final board exams
2.Final CBSE Board Examination (Class XII):/h5>
  • Theory and Practical/Project work as per subject
3. Attendance Requirement:
  • Minimum 75% attendance required to be eligible for board exams
